Two of my favourites here- Elephant Ears (the big leaves) and the front one! not sure but it is a prolific tub plant!
This is a red flowering creeper- (Mandevilla) Forever Red- it is an Australian bred- guaranteed not to FADE in our hot summers! and very dark green leaves!
Not sure what the botanical name is- I call it ELEPHANT EARS! it has the most gorgeous perfume of its trumpet like flowers.
Looking into my little Courtyard- fake grass- but a lovely green nook -our big green frogs love it- & we are going to remove the Spa-and create a little Frog Pond.
My BOUGAINVILLEA- a gorgeous Salmon Pink colour- but very spiky- and too aggressive for this confined space-so I'm going to plant it out somewhere! so it has room to grow!
Fascinated with this web of branches from the Wisteria Creeper- this tree was a Golden Elm- but it was choked- and it died -not as a direct result of this, but it was too big for the spot!
This page has not much to do with actual Landcare! but hey-we all love pretty things- and flowers can brighten your day -during this (Big Dry) as I refer to it-it has been pretty depressing seeing the paddocks so dry & bare- the trees struggling- the grass all browned off- and even fully mature trees- even gumtrees dropping leaves just trying to survive. So I set out to create my own little patch of green- my own little potted garden- as a leafy-shady retreat. So here are some photo's from that & other bits & pieces from my Bony Mountain world.
Let us know your rain-your garden stories! leave a message! cheers Norma xxx
