I HAVE TO SAY A SPECIAL THANK YOU TO CONDAMINE ALLIANCE FOR THEIR ASSISTANCE FOR THIS PLANTING, IT WAS A VERY BIG PROJECT AND A VERY SUCCESSFUL ONE ,I'VE BEEN LUCKY WITH THE RAIN AND THEY ARE POWERING! WE ARE PLANNING TO BUILD A PERMANENT FENCE AROUND THE PADDOCK.
THE NEW PLANTING ALONG DUFF ROAD! 300 TREES & SHRUBS! COMPLETED 28TH OCTOBER. WE'D JUST HAD 50 MLS OF RAIN, SO I BIT THE BULLET! BIG THANK YOU TO OUR MATES SANDY & BADEN FOR THEIR HELP! SANDY TOOK PHOTO! ALSO A BIG THANK YOU TO (CONDAMINE ALLIANCE) FOR FUNDING THIS PLANTING, THE TREES ANYWAY, WE ALSO NEED A PERMANENT FENCE, TO KEEP THE HORSES OUT!
A NICE BIG ENTRANCE TO WELCOME OUR VISITORS!
Our top paddock has huge potential for protecting our wildlife. Already a lot of natural existing timber old trees, dead trees, some great big logs, for our golden lizards, lot's of regrowth
etc. But big issue for us is to create solid corridors all around the boundary to act as windbreak/wildlife protection/shelter/privacy and help to create a real sanctuary here for all our vistors, both feathered and non feathered variety. Every September we
hold a Music Festival here in our top paddock, and people love the fact that they share the site with Kangaroos/Koalas/Wallabys, and of course so much wonderful birdlife! King Parrots, Galahs, Cockatoos, various grass Parrots, Crimson etc. Our Kookaburras
love to wake us up every morning, and we are enjoying an invasion of tiny wee birds now, I'm sure the more cover and protection we provide, the more smaller birds and mammals will thrive here. We have seen Sugar Gliders but they really need good shelter and
protection to survive.
